Unfinished Business. Episode 5

For the next 3 weeks, Sarah thought of ways to bring happiness to her father, but anytime an idea came up, fear, helplessness, and anger pushed it all down. She didn’t want to feel angry at him anymore, she wanted her mindset and feelings towards him to change but she couldn’t do it on her own. She knew she couldn’t but she didn’t know how or who to ask for help.

AND SUDDENLY! The best idea popped into her head! She wasn’t going to look too far anymore. She was going to meet the oldest helper in her father’s house and maybe get some insight on her dad’s misery.

On her way to the helper’s quarters, Sarah saw a newspaper with the headline

CHOICE CHOICE CHOICE” its all about choice! the election comes up in a month’s time, start casting your prospective votes on the online poll…..

“Oh No!” Sarah thought. She had exactly one month to get her father back to life and she was yet to begin. She quickly rushed to the oldest helper’s room and knocked on her door 3 times as her matron had thought her and opened the door slowly when she heard no answer just to find…………………………………

Nanny Cutler in the pool of her own blood.

An  ambulance, 4 police cars, streaks of neighbors and the cold hard rain.

Nanny Cutler was dead.

It made no sense. Just at the point Sarah needed help, Nanny Cutler had to be shot

Saddened and confused, Sarah broke down in her spirit. To her, she knew someone was against her success. She thought “Could it have been my father that shot Cutler?” but how could it be? Rumors had it that Nanny Cutler was Sarah’s mother’s nanny from when she was a little girl and took care of her till she got married and even moved in with her. Sarah’s dad loved her as well and only ate the food she made when Sarah’s mom died.

Wait a minute

Sarah got up from her room and went to look up for her father. She saw him in the study with a drink. She stepped in and went to hug him. Both were shocked at the sudden action of love..Not until Sarah’s father pushed her away and tossed his glass to the floor shattering it to pieces.

He lifted his hand to hit Sarah when someone grabbed him. It as Sarah’s uncle, Uncle Jerold. He had just come back from a long business meeting abroad and decided to visit his brother-in-law. Sarah had seen on TV, Uncle Jerold and he father together so many times back then in the orphanage. She hated her father, yes, but for no reason always adored this uncle of hers.

Uncle Jerold shook Sarah’s father and told him to get a hold of himself. Sarah’s dad broke into tears and blamed Sarah for all his misfortune. He blamed her for the death of his lovely wife, for the fall of his business and now for the death and Nanny Cutler. Taken aback by this sudden outburst,, Sarah didn’t even wait for him to finish talking when she ran out.

She ran out of the study, out of the corridor, out of the house gates and into the garden, where the lake was, where the trees and grass were, where she always felt peace and felt the presence of her heavenly Father. She ran out of her place of sorrows and into the joy of the Lord, into the tower of the Most High.

She didn’t speak for a long time but just hummed. everywhere was still. Quiet. The she heard the voice of the Holy spirit say to her ” Forgive, let go, forgive, let go”. She couldn’t comprehend. in her mind she had forgiven her father, that’s why she wanted him to be happy, but in her heart she still felt resentment towards him.

She lift up her hands and said “Yes, yes Lord, help me to forgive, help me to let go of all the pain, guilt, resentment and anger I feel towards my father, help me to love him and not to feel any hate towards him.”

She surely felt different by the next day, she knew she had gotten a feeling that was never there.

The feeling of LOVE
