I watched as my friend Bita applied finishing touches to her make-up. I was all set up for this place we were both going to, this place Bita had called a “surprise”.

“How do I look?” Bita asked turning to face me. The makeup was too much, the eyeliner smudge at the side of her eyes, the foundation too noticeable, the lipstick nastily applied also but I didn’t want to offend my friend.
” You look beautiful”  I replied with a smile but the word felt stale in my mouth.

INTO HIS GLORY

The story of the crucifixion of Jesus and the life after that is likened to the story written below. We are quite aware that Jesus was beaten, bruised, and nailed to the cross just because of you and me. Yet we still act familiar to the crucifixion story and sin and “pray for forgiveness” taking advantage of the fact that Our God is merciful and gracious. As we read this short story, please let’s do so with the understanding that Jesus Christ did all that for us and let’s take a moment to think and thank Him.

I NT O   H I S   G L O R Y

I was still very little when my parents were taken away as captives from our land during the war. It remained my elder sister, my twin brother, and me. Not long after they had been taken away, my brother died out of an illness we were ignorant to. We suffered but survived as we only had each other. Another war came and my sister and I were taken away together to an unknown land far away from ours. It was beyond scary but we felt we were safe since we had each other.
In this new land, we were made slaves. We worked for the royals there. They showed no mercy to anyone they termed as slaves. Even to a little girl like me.

Unfinished business Episode 2

Part 2 of the lovely series “Unfinished Business”

Episode 2

2.

Sara never suspected, in her wildest dreams, that her dad would ever come back. She was half happy that he hadn’t forgotten her and the other half… the bigger half wanted her so-called father dead. She had already gathered some money and could hire an assassinator to clear him and his entire existence! That was what Sara had in her mind as she felt sprinkles of water on her face. She jerked up and later figured that that was a very bad idea. Pain shot through her body and paralyzed her. She couldn’t feel any part of her body and wondered if she was actually breathing until she heard whispers around her.

“I think she’s responding,” said one

“Is she going to be okay?” said another

“Why did she even faint? What is she trying to show us, that she has hormones that can make her faint when she’s surprised?” said the oldest orphan in that home. Kenny.

She was a year older than Sara and hated her more than anything. She made her life really miserable and always struggled to keep Sara in that orphanage. No doubt, Sara was really pretty, and had a lot of brains and a lot of people wanted to adopt her but Kenny always sabotaged the operation and Sara always remained. Why she hated her, no one really knew for sure, but it was really overrated.

“Move out of the way everyone” said Sara’s father, “ Give her some space please” he sounded like he was really hurt and scared for her and for some time Sara was kinda convinced that he was feeling remorse for what he did but the better side of her told her that a man who could dump a child at the orphanage for his reputation was too proud to even have a little pint of feelings.

“What do you want?” said Sara, finally getting some strength to speak. Her head hurt a lot but she just wanted to get this over with. “Just tell me why you’re here dad?”

“Well, darling”   he said as he took his seat beside me ” as you may know, I’m running for president of the charity homes in the country, and while some journalist was doing some investigation, they found out that I had a… you know, a daughter here. So, I need you to come and stay with me until the election is over.”

“And when the election is over?” Sara said, tears welling up in her eyes “What’s going to happen to me then? Are you just going to leave me stranded with the world against me?”

“Now, now daughter, don’t be rude, I’ll take care of all your expenses and by the time the election is over, I’ll give you a job somewhere low that can fit your… status” He said looking her up and down. With that he turned around and walked to the door. Before he left he spoke without even a glance back at Sara. He said in a stern voice

“You have just three days to make a decision, think straight” and he walked away, leaving Sara in her own worry and hurt.

I know this took really long to update but please do feel free to tell me your thoughts about this part.

Do you think Sara should go ahead with the deal?, and what are your perspectives on her father?

IS IT WORTH IT?

true life story of a girl who was faced with an embarrassing circumstance but handled it….her own way, was it worth it??

Summer was casually walking on the street on a very cold Tuesday evening. The rain had just ended but it drizzled still. She was on her way to the cafe to get some bread for the next morning when she got a phone call from an anonymous number to meet her at the park just a few blocks away. Normally, no one would go, considering the fact it was getting dark already and the voice sounded like one of a serial killer, but as curiosity kills the cat, Summer decided to go. On reaching the park, she saw a girl around her age motioning for her to come over. As she got closer, the girl walked over to Summer and gave her a slap. Summer was beyond shocked at that moment but stayed quiet. The girl began screaming and accusing Summer of taking her boyfriend away from her.

“why were you talking to my boyfriend?

Her Last Confession

This particular character has never seen happiness in her life…..or maybe she doesn’t remember….Read on to find out the tragedy in her life and how it got healed…

HER LAST CONFESSION

I never knew what it felt like to jump off a cliff before. As a child, I always heard in Sunday school, that if you killed yourself you would end up in a place called “hell”. I never believed there was a place called hell or heaven. I believed that if you died, you died. Mama always said ‘trust in God and you would never have to worry about anything, but one look at her life, and I changed my mind into believing in her unseen God. She was a crazy woman who wanted to drag me and Sally along with her, she succeeded with Sally, oh she sure did and Sally later regretted it, or so she said.
